• Buffalo Bore Ammunition 44 Special 200 Grain Hard Cast Lead Wadcutter Anti-Personnel Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Anti-Personnel ammunition is loaded with the highest quality components to produce great accuracy and performance. This load was designed for use in any firearm chambered in 44 Special. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Owner of Buffalo Bore Tim Sundles on Anti-Personnel 44 Special Ammunition:

This load was developed to be used in ALL/ANY 44 SPL firearms including Charter Arms. Our other heavy 44 SPL loads exclude the Charter Arms as suitable for use with them. Due to popular request to make a potent defensive load in 44 SPL that can be fired in ALL 44 SPL or 44 MAG. firearms, we’ve developed this hard cast Wadcutter 200gr. load. It utilizes a low flash powder as nearly all defensive shooting in the US occur in low light when the criminal element is at work and it would place the shooter in a defenseless position if he or she were blinded by the flash of their own gun fire on the first shot.

As always Buffalo Bore uses real, over-the-counter firearms to determine our published, real-world velocities. We do this rather than follow the industry-wide, duplicitous practice of using extra long test barrels to generate exaggerated velocities that the ammo user will seldom, if ever see. With Buffalo Bore you can always know what velocity your ammunition is generating in the real world, versus a sterile, ambient controlled laboratory using long, highly efficient test barrels. See our real world velocities below:

    • 1.1036 fps – Ruger Super Black Hawk, 5.5 inch barrel
    • 2. 971 fps – S&W MT Gun, 4 inch barrel
    • 3. 948 fps – S&W Mod. 396, 3 inch barrel
    • 4. 920 fps – Charter Arms Bull Dog, 3 inch barrel
    • 5. 913 fps – S&W Mod. 296, 2 inch barrel

This load is designed to permanently and quickly disable threats. The big flat wadcutter nose crushes tissue as it passes through, unlike mushroomed bullets that are slightly rounded on the nose and tend to slip and slide through tissue. The crushing action of the flat nose keeps penetration straight and when penetration remains straight, it is generally very deep deep enough to obtain full penetration on the largest target from any angle. The hard cast construction will not deform at these velocities so the nose profile remains constant along with bullet path and terminal damage. Noted NYPD stake out officer and gun fighter Jim Cirillo used full wadcutters in his 38 SPL revolvers because they incapacitated with certainty. Expect about 24 inches of straight-line penetration with this load. This load utilizes a hard cast (not soft lead) properly lubed bullet and will not substantially lead foul your barrel, even if you fire hundreds of rounds.

  • Underwood Xtreme Defender Ammunition 44 Special 125 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Defense Lead-Free Box of 20

While taking advantage of state of the art testing equipment, this high performance ammunition by Underwood is field tested using popular, real firearms that customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience. If for some reason Underwood Ammunition fails to meet performance expectations, Underwood stands by their product 100% and will make sure the customer is satisfied with every purchase. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable nickel plated brass cases.

The Xtreme Defender is based on the popular Xtreme Penetrator product line. The XD ammunition has an optimized nose flute, total weight, and velocity to achieve a penetration depth up to 18 inches with a permanent wound cavity (PWC) that is just simply enormous; no other expanding hollow point comes close to achieving anywhere near this diameter and volume. Not only is the PWC over 100% larger than any other expanding bullet, expansion is achieved despite being shot through barriers. The solid copper body ensures that wallboard, sheet metal, and automotive glass will have no effect on the Permanent Wound Channel. All of Underwood Ammo rounds utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.

The Underwood nickel plating process provides several key benefits including; improved feeding in all actions of firearms, enhanced corrosion resistance over traditional brass, improved cosmetics, and ease of cleanup during reloading. Nickel plated casings will not tarnish like brass during storage or when in contact with foreign materials such as leather, moisture, and other metals. Until the development of the Ducta-Bright 7a process, nickel plating casings often limited the number of reloads as compared to raw brass. It was claimed that nickel plated brass casings embrittled the brass therefore making it less desirable for reloaders despite the ease of cleanup that nickel plating offers. In addition, ammunition engineers raising concerns of using nickel plating in very hot +P or magnum loads found that traditional nickel plating often cracked deep-drawn cases, or worse, lead to a total failure. This new process eliminates any concern, to the shooter or reloader, of hazard or ability to re-use the brass.

    Features

    • Reduced recoil.
    • CNC machined from solid copper to overcome barriers to penetration
    • Radial flutes that force the hydraulic energy inward to build pressure
    • Minimal surface area to increase the force at the point of contact and sharp cutting edges that defeat barriers

The Lehigh Xtreme Penetrator bullet features progressive nose geometry, which allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. To top it off, the bullet is solid copper and is able to overcome barriers to penetration; environmentally friendly, target unfriendly, very unfriendly, downright obnoxiously unfriendly. The magic happens with the nose design where the radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes damaging surrounding tissue. Kind of similar to sticking your thumb over a garden hose. The permanent wound cavity of the XP is from two to four times greater than what a flat or ball nose bullet generates and often larger than traditional expanding bullets. So what you get is exceptional penetration coupled with a larger permanent wound cavity. The solid copper alloy construction will not deform when contacting hard surfaces like a lead jacketed bullet will do nor will it fragment as some hard cast lead bullets are prone to do. What it will do is overcome surface barriers and penetrate straight and deep while creating a massive wound channel.

Suppressor Safe— The projectile is machined from solid bar stock. This is not a frangible bullet produced from powdered metal.

Hard Cast Wadcutter bullets are a great option for target shooting or self defense. The Hi-Tek coating is a polymer based compound that not only reduces fouling in your barrel, but also substantially reduces airborne lead contamination (allowing for use in some indoor ranges). The elimination of the wax lubrication combined with the reduced airborne lead contamination results in considerably less smoke produced with each shot. Hi-Tek is NOT nylon, PTFE (teflon), or Molybdenum. All Underwood Ammo rounds utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.
